Therapy for Adjustment Problems

Sometimes, children and teens have problems adjusting to major life stressors such as:

  • Moving from one place to another
  • Changing schools
  • A parent going on deployment in military families
  • The arrival of new siblings
  • Parental divorce
  • Parental remarriage

In response, children and teens sometimes:

  • Become aggressive
  • Become defiant and argumentative
  • Experience sadness and/or loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy
  • Experience anxiety

Many times, a combination of family psychotherapy and individual psychotherapy can be helpful coping with these kinds of changes. At Teleios Behavioral Health, we provide both family psychotherapy and individual psychotherapy to help with adjustment related problems.
