Family Psychotherapy

Our approach to treating children and teens centers on the use of evidence-based psychotherapies. However, we view child and adolescent problems in the context of interactions between children and the systems that surround them. We help children and teens to effectively deal with the world around them, while simultaneously making changes in the environment around them as needed. We sometimes recommend family psychotherapy in addition to either parent training in behavioral interventions or individual psychotherapy. We draw upon Minuchin’s Structural Family Therapy and Murray Bowen’s Bowenian Therapy approaches when providing family psychotherapy.
